This blogger personally own thousands of domain names and I've been using a tool that I helped to co develop called iReporter. I'm going to develop the name 247homebasedbusiness.com (This blog, started only a week ago). I started with a brand new site, nothing original in terms of content. New graphics and everything else and I'm going to try and drop the elephant. The term "Home Based Business" is one of the most competitive search terms anywhere and I plan on being in the top 5 spots on the first page within 45 days. If I accomplish that goal, the site should be worth a pile of money. I'm going to use my iReporter tool so everyone can follow my progress. I already have top rankings for lots of sites that are not this competitive but my results are so encouraging that I think this can be accomplished. Check in every once in a while and I'll be glad to answer questions and post frequently here.

There are a variety of ways to increase traffic and all involves work. Work! That is a terrible word that should somehow be stricken from the English language. Come on, Paris Hilton doesn't have to work! But anyway, back to reality. Booo hissss.! On the other hand, seeing work rewarded is always good but understanding how to save time and money in the process can be the real difference since a home based business is usually a one man show. Being your own boss means doing all the other stuff too including learning from your mistakes so using the right tools are the key. Along with using the right tools, you should know these basics behind increasing web site traffic. I call it the a, b, c's of online marketing: a) Choose a domain name with good keywords; b) launch a blog or better yet, relaunch your whole online business, as a blog! c) Write good content, with targeted keywords so people want to link to you. These three things will help you get ranked and if you're ranked, you'll have traffic. Then just keep it up.
