Home Based Business Gaining Dominance in US |
| 2/7/2008 12:15:15 PM |
It used to be that you almost never even heard of or knew somebody that owned a home based business and was actually making money when they would work from home. These days all of that is entirely different. Experts estimate that more than 20-million Americans earn their income by owning and operating their own home based businesses, and why not. When people work from home they are able to realize their own profits instead of generating profits for some other company. Home based businesses certainly have their place in our society as much as small town America does. As the technology behind the internet continues to expand more and more people will continue to work from home by telecommuting each and every single day, and for good reason too—no boss, better pay, their own set schedule and the convenience of commuting down the hallway to make it to the office. If you are interested in starting your own home based business, just make sure that you do some research and know what you are getting yourself into before you commit all the time, money and effort—you can work from home and be free...I do.

Home Based Business Blog–Four Top Reasons to Work from Home |
| 2/7/2008 12:11:43 PM |
There are now so many different great home based business ideas out there that finding a way to work from home has never been so easy. There are tons of different ways that you can easily earn a pretty solid income when working from home running your own home based business. Here are the top four reasons why working from home and home based businesses rock!
1. No boss hanging over your shoulder, total freedom and you don't have to answer to anyone but yourself; you are your own boss...it does not get any better than that!
2. No clocking in and clocking out, you are never late for work and you decide what days you work and what days that you take off.
3. Home based businesses offer tons of tax breaks and deductions that you otherwise would not be able to take if you were working on a W2 as most workplaces use.
4. Typically you can earn more money with a home based business than you would with a traditional job. Take this into account—I work from home as a freelance writer and earn six figures per year easily, and you can too if you are committed. |

Expect Interruptions When You Work from Home |
| 2/7/2008 12:09:35 PM |
People who work from home are in a enviable position of having their cake and eating it too, according to people who want to work from home, but are stuck with a long, slow commute in a corporate environment they may not like. There is a lot to working from home, however, that only those who do it realize. I have had a home based business for a long time, and the major issue I deal with is interruptions from people all day long who think that I am available to talk on the phone, instant message, go out to lunch, or clean the house at the drop of a hat. While interruptions are a normal part of everyone's work day, whether they are at home or not, when they occur at home, it seems like they are more intrusive than when they happen at a work site.
And then there are the pets, which is an entirely different issue. When you work from home, you have your cat or dog with you, and you may lose time while you give them the attention that they need. I have a cat who thinks I am his doorman, and work from home just to pay for this house, buy his food, and open the door to his big outdoor territory at his every whim. |

Work from home - what you should know |
| 1/26/2008 4:31:29 PM |
America has become a nation of sedentary activity and convenience for everything. We like to sit on our butts and have everything come to us. From fast food to buying your groceries online - Americans are slowly getting more and more stationary in their lives. One of the things you should be aware of in this regard are those that advertise a great benefit by doing something from home, like a work from home job.
If you are like me, you like to have specific associations for places - food and eating for your kitchen, sleep and relaxation for your bedroom and work and play for your living room and office. Many people work this way. With that in mind, a work from home job can be great because of the convenience, but you must also consider the fact that you are now bringing work to your home, rather than leaving it at a physical location. What was once a place of relaxation is now a place of work.
There are many things to consider when you work from home, so just make sure it wont burn you out and your home stays a home.

A Unique Home Based Business |
| 1/26/2008 12:28:13 PM |
A home based business can be your ticket to leaving corporate life behind and enjoy the challenges and rewards from setting up shop at home. You can pursue so many different lines of work from home. Almost everyone is connected to the Internet, and almost all people with a home based business use the Internet to conduct their business or stay in touch their clients. There are exceptions, however. I was watching Martha Stewart the other day, and she featured a guy who makes home made brooms for a living in the Northeastern US. They showed how he makes them, and it made me wish that I could do something as low tech as that, instead of working 100% online. When I start thinking that way, I know it is time to take a break from my home based business, and go do something else. The secret to staying sane in a home based business is to get away from it once in a while. When your work is at home, it tends to take over your life, and when you need to be refreshed, walking away from it and going somewhere else revitalizes you so you can go back and do some more. |

A Home Based Business Has Some Privacy Challenges |
| 1/14/2008 12:38:10 PM |
Having a home based business can be the perfect work environment, as long as people learn to respect your work hours, and do not intrude too much into your day. I have been working at home for quite some time, and have learned to field phone calls that are from family members during the day by promising to call them after hours. I have them all pretty well trained now. When a person has a home based business, there is every possibility that their work will intrude into their family life, so it is important to confine your business to a part of the house that is for work only. By putting some separation between the home based business and the rest of the house, you can have a separate family life and work from home without feeling like you are constantly working. Other ways to put a line between your work life and your family life are to change clothes for work in the morning, and put on different clothes when you finish your day. This is what most people do who go to offices to work, and it works surprisingly well for me, too. |

For Me, Work from Home is My Only Option |
| 12/21/2007 12:25:02 PM |
It is so nice to be able be able to work from home because you save so much time not driving to the office and actually you can get more done if you work from home than if you go to the office every day. If you have a job that involves writing, number crunching, or other types of activities that involve sitting quietly at your computer and thinking or processing, see if your employer can get tax credits for you to work at home a day or two a week. Some taxing authorities give employers credits if they let their staff work from home once in a while because it cuts down on air pollution and heavy traffic.
I started working at home when I was living in Dana Point California and working in Newport Beach. My employer went through a rapid expansion and asked me if I would be willing to work from home full time to free up office space. I had one of the larger offices in the building and they wanted to convert it into three smaller offices. If any of you know what rush-hour traffic is light on Highway 1 in Southern California, you know what my answer was. I quickly got spoiled and since then my only option is to work from home. |

Work from Home as a Blogger |
| 12/21/2007 12:24:30 PM |
Telecommuting is sometimes the best form of having a home based business. Many home based businesses are Multi Level Marketing (MLM) businesses where you're selling a product or service, but also recruiting other people to work below you. You are paying royalties to the people above you and the people working below you are paying royalties to the people above as well. Many people see MLM businesses as unethical because of their similar structure to the pyramid scheme.
A great way to start telecommuting is starting a home based business blog. You can use some of the best blog tools online to create your blog. You can also work from home and become hired as an ireporter, basically reporting about various subjects for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) writing which asks you to implement a few specific key words into a high quality piece of writing that is error free.
You can also begin your own personal work from home blog. A work from home blog can start making traffic. After that, you can get Google Ad Sense on your blog and make money through traffic and clicks. You can also become an affiliate member for a reputable company, such as eBay and/or Amazon and get paid on commission by how many people click on your ad and purchase on the site.
Sometimes, the best business is one that you have control of that require no payments of royalties. To work from home- or anywhere in the world- is one of the best forms of freedom to have within the working world of today.

Become a Childcare Provider and Work from Home |
| 10/28/2007 12:46:46 PM |
In this day, there are many ways to earn a living from home. Work from home opportunities are plentiful. The key is exploring different options and finding a home business that matches your personality. Since work from home opportunities generally involve up-front fees and costs, many people would rather seek employment outside the home than invest in their own business. Fortunately, some work from home opportunities can be started with little or no investment. If you have extra space in your home, and you love children, consider a home based daycare center. Good childcare providers are in demand. Plus, parents are prepared to pay for quality care. Of course, no one should become a daycare provider simply because it pays well. This type of occupation requires a love for children and patience. You'll deal with a variety of personalities and situations. However, if you can handle the ups and downs of this field, childcare could be the best work from home opportunity for you. |

Work from Home |
| 10/27/2007 12:56:51 PM |
The ability to work from home usually requires a home computer, fax machine, definitely the Internet, and discipline. Discipline is involved because it is sometimes a whole lot more attractive to work in the garage or the kitchen rather than in front of the computer. Doing laundry and cleaning the garage should not be daytime priorities for home workers.
The ability to work from home is particularly good if you live in a suburban area and your commute is long and congested. Some employers get credits for home workers, and they allow some staff members to work from home a day or two a week. In larger metro areas, they get air pollution credits for it.
To see if your employer will let you work from home, figure out what you could do at home first, and how much time it takes to do those tasks at home. Then approach your employer with a solid plan about how you could get it done more efficiently at home rather than in the office. Writing reports or proposals is usually a solitary activity, and between instant messaging, phone calls, and emails, these can be easily be done from a home office. If your job involves constant interaction with others, working from home may not be a viable option for you. |

Now I'm writing for blogs, and while new at it, thoroughly enjoy it. It is a great work from home opportunity, and the future looks very bright for blogging because the search engines like blogs.
